Prayer Model
Acts 4:31-35 (Today's New International Version)
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own,
but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those
who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed
to anyone who had need.

Place of Honor
How often you have heard someone say, “You gotta’ look out for number one”? In the passage this week, Jesus talks about people who are always looking to get the best spots and positions. Although that mentality is common today, it does not mesh with the way of Jesus. As you take time to read these verses this week, let the teaching of Jesus take root in your heart. How does what he says apply to our lives today?
Luke 14:1, 7-14
1 One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched... 7 When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8 "When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. 9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, 'Give this man your seat.' Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. 10 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. 11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
12 Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Action of the Week
This week we are going to ask you to act upon this Sunday's message about dreams in people lives. Go and ask 5 people this week if they ever experienced the desire to do something for someone specifically. Did they act upon it or did they not act upon it? Ask how it turned out for them. What was the hardest part for them to do in their situation?
